About Reingold
Reingold is a full-service marketing and creative firm in Alexandria, VA. For more than 40 years, we’ve been driven by a simple mission: to help organizations –– whether in the government, nonprofit, or business sector –– as they strive to make the world a better place. We hire top-notch talent to develop and launch compelling, inventive communications campaigns, leveraging the latest technology and digital media strategies that enable our clients to meet their audiences where they are.
We’re proud to say we’ve built a team of curious, passionate pros — from marketers and tech wizards to designers and strategists — who love what they do and bring their A-game every day. We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. We believe great ideas come from collaboration, humor, and a little bit of fun along the way.
When you work at Reingold, you get more than a job, you get a community. We offer competitive salaries, a comprehensive benefits package, a dynamic hybrid work environment, a vibrant workplace and growth opportunities in a variety of specialty areas. That means when we find great people (and they find us), they stick around for the long term.
That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Strategy and Organizational Communications Subject Matter Expert to join our Consulting Department as a subject matter expert in internal communications and organizational strategy. In this full-time, individual-contributor role, you advise senior client leadership on internal and external communications strategy, analyze how client programs communicate and coordinate across a complex organization, and help integrate that work into a coherent, consistent voice. You will initially be dedicated to supporting a U.S. Census Bureau Economic Directorate engagement, providing direct advisory support to the client’s Senior Leadership Team on internal and external communications, including stakeholder engagement with partner and international organizations.
This is a hybrid role, requiring a consistent client site presence (Suitland, MD) with occasional remote work and/or work at Reingold’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA.
Here’s the work you’ll do:
Essential Functions:
- Analyze and document the current state of client programmatic strategies and communication approaches across multiple programs and projects, identifying gaps and opportunities for greater integration and consistency.
- Advise senior client leadership, including executive and senior leadership teams, on internal and external communications strategy, positioning, and messaging.
- Support client engagement with external stakeholders, including partner agencies, international statistical or geospatial organizations, and industry or professional associations, on strategic communications matters.
- Develop and deliver written reports, briefings, presentations, and recommendations to client leadership and Reingold program management on a recurring (e.g., biweekly) cadence or as directed.
- Partner with cross-functional creative, research, and digital delivery teams to ensure internal communications strategy aligns with and reinforces broader outreach and communication plans.
- Identify communications-related risks and issues across client programs and recommend mitigation strategies, contributing updates to the program risk register as appropriate.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on internal communications and organizational strategy, mentoring less-experienced consultants supporting the same client engagement.
- Maintain compliance with client confidentiality and data-protection requirements, including completing any required government data-handling or facility-access training.
- Support Reingold business development activities.
This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time.

- Experience analyzing and documenting communications practices, programs, or strategies across complex, multi-program organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level briefings, reports, and presentations.
- Active U.S. Public Trust determination, or ability to obtain one, and ability to obtain Census Bureau facility access/badging and complete required Title 13 confidentiality training.
- Prior experience supporting the U.S. Census Bureau or another federal statistical or economic agency.
- Active membership or experience working with international statistical or geospatial organizations.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent program/project management credential.
- Experience in a professional services, consulting, or agency environment supporting government clients.
- Familiarity with stakeholder engagement involving international statistical, geospatial, or standards-setting organizations.
