That's where you come in. We’re looking for a mid-level consultant to support the design, execution, and continuous improvement of portfolio management operations. This role focuses on managing intake and evaluation processes, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting leadership with actionable insights across a complex portfolio of initiatives. The ideal candidate is both strategic and execution-oriented, with the ability to translate data into meaningful recommendations while maintaining structured processes across multiple workstreams.  

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least two days per week on site at Reingold’s headquarters in Alexandria, VA, or one day per week at our office in Raleigh, NC. 
 
Here’s the work you’ll do:  
 
Essential Functions: 
  
Portfolio Management & Governance 
  • Support the development and execution of portfolio management frameworks, including initiative tracking, prioritization, and performance monitoring 
  • Maintain visibility across programs, projects, and initiatives, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives 
  • Assist in preparing materials for portfolio reviews, leadership briefings, and governance forums 
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and gaps across the portfolio and propose mitigation strategies 
 
Intake & Evaluation Management 
  • Manage and continuously improve intake processes for new initiatives, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment to strategic priorities 
  • Support the evaluation of initiatives using structured frameworks (e.g., value alignment, feasibility, impact) 
  • Facilitate coordination between stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submission of intake materials 
  • Track and report on intake pipeline status, decisions, and outcomes 
 
Data Analysis & Insights 
  • Collect, organize, and analyze portfolio data to generate actionable insights for leadership 
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar) 
  • Support the definition and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes 
  • Translate complex data into clear, concise narratives and visualizations 
 
Process Improvement & Operations 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce duplication, and improve data quality 
  • Support the product lifecycle, including tracking the workflow, reporting, and managing the implementation of tools and systems to enable scalable portfolio management (e.g., workflow tools, data repositories) 
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adoption across teams 
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable frameworks and templates 
 
Stakeholder Engagement 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, program managers, and leadership 
  • Coordinate and manage working sessions, workshops, and stakeholder meetings 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical audiences

This role is a good fit for someone with these qualifications, experience and skills: 
 
Required Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, data analytics, or a related field 
  • 4-6 years of experience in consulting, program management, or portfolio management 
  • Experience supporting intake, evaluation, or governance processes in a complex organization 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Active U.S. Public Trust determination or ability to obtain one. 
Preferred Qualifications:  
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, healthcare, or large-scale operational environments 
  • Familiarity with portfolio management frameworks, OKRs, or performance measurement approaches 
  • Experience with workflow or low-code tools (e.g., Appian, Power Apps, or similar) 
  • Experience working with structured data environments (e.g., SharePoint lists, relational data models) 
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology in a clinical or research setting 
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to clients and/or senior leaders 

Supervisory Responsibilities:   
  
This position will not have direct reports but will be expected to mentor junior teammates and to
lead by example and influence.

Work environment and physical requirements: 
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  
 
Travel: Up to 25% travel, as requested by the client, within the United States.
