Social Media Associate

Reingold, a leading social marketing firm based in Alexandria, Va., is looking for a social media associate to help a fast-growing digital marketing team plan and execute social media campaigns. The associate will support a variety of clients, including: the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Census Bureau, NFL, Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy, and the USO. This is a unique opportunity for a communications professional to assist in the development of cutting-edge marketing, public education, and advertising campaigns for social causes that matter.

The social media associate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives, including analyzing social media trends and conversations; developing social media content calendars and products; writing position papers and case studies; implementing and monitoring cross-channel social media strategies, such as user-generated campaigns and online events; creating new social media networks; and integrating social media into larger communications plans.

This person will assist in all phases of social media project planning, research, design, content development, and execution. Daily work also will involve collaboration with Reingold’s consulting, digital advertising, information technology, and editorial teams to produce the strongest possible campaigns. The social media associate will be expected to constantly help expand Reingold’s capabilities in new media channels and monitor the latest social media trends and tools to provide strategic direction for the company.

Qualifications and skills include:

  • 1–3 years’ experience in social media management or digital marketing
  • Strong knowledge of social networking channels and how best to align content, technology, and audience needs
  • Experience writing content for social media platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and blogs — a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with listening and reporting tools such as Simply Measured, Crimson Hexagon, NUVI or similar enterprise-level reporting tools
  • Versatile self-starter with strong intellect and initiative
  • Bachelor’s degree required
